Daniel C. Rossetti, Jr. 83 of Dover, DE. died June 13,2011. Born in Alpha, NJ., he was the son of the late Daniel C. and Agnes Fioretti Rossetti. Dan was a WW-2, Korean and Vietnam War Veteran and had served in the US Navy and later in the US Air Force retiring in 1967 as a Tech. Sgt. after 20 years of service. Upon his retirement from the Armed Forces he worked for 23 years with the Dover Post Office retiring in 1990. He was an active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and was extremely active within the community. He was a life time Member of the American Legion, Walter L. Fox Post # 2 and a life time Member of the Air Force Sergeant's Association, the Del Vets Club, the Dover Modern Maturity Center and the Harvest Years Senior Center in Camden. Dan was a Charter Member of the Sons of Italy, Caesar Rodney Lodge and was a Past Council Member of the Delmarva Boy Scouts. Through all of his activities, Dan found the time to serve as a volunteer with the Dover Air Force Base Hospital Pharmacy. In his quieter moments Dan enjoyed Bowling and playing Pinochle. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his son, Michael, in 1975 and two of his brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Delores Del Sole Rossetti of Dover, De.; his two children, Karen R. Cairns and spouse John of Mitchell, SD and Andrew Rossetti and spouse Laurin of Milford, De. four Grandchildren; Jennifer Johnson of Waterville, ME, and Megan, Leigh Ann and Kevin Rossetti all of Milford, De.; three Great Grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah and Gabrielle Johnson all of Waterville, ME.; His brother, Leo Rossetti and 3 sisters; Anne Leslie, Agnes Pesaressi and Mary Ann Baurkot all of Alpha, NJ. Friends may call Friday, June 17, 2011 from 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover, De. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 PM in Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St. Dover. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover, DE.
