Albert Emrich, age 78 of Dover, DE died August 19, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and was the son of the late Albert J. and Edna Albohn Emrich. He had served as a Master Sgt. in the US Air Force and had retired with over 22 years of service. Upon his retirement from the military, Al served as a superintendent with the Playtex Corp. for a year and a half until illness forced his retirement. Possessing a natural talent for computer programming, he was a Charter Member of the First State Commodore Club. He was also a member of the American Legion, Walter L. Fox Post, and the Loyal Order of Moose, Camden-Wyo. Lodge 203. In his quieter moments he enjoyed Photography. Al leaves his loving wife Gertrud "Trudy" Faeth Emrich of Dover, DE along with His sons, Douglas P. Emrich and wife Jo Ann of Myrtle Beach, SC, Ronald M. Emrich and significant other Emily Sigers of Savannah, GA, and Steven A. Emrich of Brooklyn, NY, and one grandson Chad D. Emrich of Gaithersburg, MD and sister Joyce A. Parkhurst and her husband Robert of Miller Place, LI,NY, along with 5 Nieces and nephews. Al also leaves two special friends, Bill Southam and Paul Hubner both of Dover, DE, and his pet Chihuahua, General. Friends may call Monday eve. from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso 1175 S. State St. Dover, DE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Cross Church So. State St. Dover. Interment will be in Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover.
