Obituary for James Pearson Campbell

James P. Campbell departed this life peacefully at home on Friday, October 28, 2022. He was born January 18, 1934 in Columbia, PA to the late Lillian and John Campbell.
After high school graduation, Jim enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Korean War as an Aircraft Mechanic/Engine Analyzer at Dover Air Force Base. He was honorably discharged in 1957 at which time he went home to Columbia, PA to own/operate his family’ appliance and propane gas distribution business, Snyder & Campbell. In 1976, after selling the family business, he came back to Dover, DE and held various positions including owner of Campbell Realty, a Loan Officer/Mortgage Originator, Landlord and Contractor. Jim retired in 1996 and enjoyed life with his wife Nancy while pursuing his hobbies. He was a champion Turkey Shoot gunman for many years. His other hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, woodworking, renovating his rental properties and flying. Early in his life, Jim acquired his pilot license and owned/flew his own small airplane for many years. He also spent much of his time as a volunteer, with over 2500 hours, at the Air Mobility Command Museum at DAFB rebuilding airplanes for display.
Jim is fondly remembered by his friends and family to have a wonderful, happy, always joyful, full of laughter and smiles personality.
In addition to his parents and siblings, Jack and Kate, Jim was predeceased by his son James Jr, his wife Nancy, a stepson, Greg Runyon, and a great grandson, Kyrie.
He is survived by his lady friend, Janice Agan, his daughters Bonnie and Mindi Campbell, wife of Stephen ‘Skip’ Shappee, and stepdaughter Jan Cooper, along with grandchildren and great grandchildren.
