Mary Jo Begley, passed away suddenly in the care of Kent General Hospital, in Dover on July 26, 2022. She was 66 years old. She was born on Mary 5, 1956 to the late John J. Begley and Alice McKenna in Arlington, VA. Mary Jo was passionate about her job as a social worker for 28 years with Department of Children, Youth and Their Families, starting as a Family Services Specialist with the Division of Family services before finding her forever home with Department of Prevention and Behavioral Health. Mary Jo will be deeply missed by her friends, colleagues, and her present and former clients and their families.

Mary Jo is survived by her nephew Aiden Staker-Kemp of Dover, brother Andrew Begley of Smyrna, Niece Mandy Langford of Smyrna, and 2 great nephews Jeremy & Gavin of Smyrna. In addition to her parents, Mary Jo is preceded in death by her lifetime partner Scott McConnell.

Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Saturday, August 13, 2022 at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901. Friends may call two hours prior.
