Obituary for Floyd E Wadsworth Sr.

Floyd was born November 9th, 1933 in Benson, NY, located in the Aderondack Mountains.
Floyd was one of eleven children.
Growing up he worked in the fields and the woods logging with his dad and brothers.
Floyd enlisted in the US Army at the age of 18. He always told his family he finally had indoor plumbing.
He served in Korea and served his country with pride and honor. He was awarded several medals, a bronze star, and good conduct citations.
Floyd came back to the states and ended up at Camp Kilmer, NJ. There he met the love of his life, Jo, at a social gathering. They married, had 2 sons, 2 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Floyd's family meant the world to him. They did a lot of family things together.
When Floyd did anything, he did it his way. His sons can attest to that. The lawn had to mowed a certain way. He even groomed the snow when he shoveled. But that was Floyd still in the military. His family just went along with him.
When Floyd and Jo retired, they did a lot of traveling. They had the time of their lives.
They decided in 2006 to leave New Jersey and move to an adult community. They ended up in Wild Meadows in Dover, DE.
They were very active in the community. In 2006, Floyd was told he had to have his right leg removed due to years of poor circulation. He was then fitted for a prosthesis.
And away he went. that did not stop him. He took a situation and did the best he could with it.
Floyd amazed so manty people. He was such an inspiration to so many. His family was so proud of him.
The last year was not so good for Floyd. His heart was not cooperating, but he he kept going. Even when he wa diagnosed with lung cancer, he wasn't ready to give up. He kept right on fighting.
Floyd and Jo were married for 67 years before he took his last trip March 17th, 2022.
