Obituary for Robert Myron Snable

Pastor Robert M. Snable, Dover.

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Pastor Bob Snable, a faithful servant of God, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Bob departed this earthly realm on May 15, 2023, in Dover, DE leaving behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of countless lives he touched. Bob was a man of unwavering faith, unyielding dedication, and unparalleled compassion.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Matilda “Tillie” Snable; his children, Deborah Watts, Kimberly Russell, Timshal Snable, Judith Snable, and Robert M. Snable, Jr. and five bonus children; Leon A. Kukulka, Matilda S. Kukulka, Bonita “Bonnie” McCann, Edward J. Kukulka, and Dolores S. Michels.

He is also survived and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He also leaves behind a Congregation and community that will forever be grateful for his faithful service and leadership.

Born on November 1, 1929, in Baskingridge, NJ, the son of the late Myron and Mariom Prout Snable.

Bob was a graduate of Princeton University (1951), Princeton Theological Seminary (1954), and Union Theological Seminary of New York to earn his Masters of Sacred Theology (1961).
He was Ordained in The Presbytery of Elizabeth in New Jersey on June 6, 1954.
Bob served as a Chaplain in the U.S.A.F. from 1966 until retirement with rank of Lt. Colonel in 1986. He was a Distinguished Graduate of the Squadron Officer School, U.S.A.F., Maxwell AFB, Montgomery, AL and Chaplain School, Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX.
After his retirement from the U.S.A.F., Bob continued his faithful service as a Presbyterian Pastor in several Churches throughout Delaware and retiring in 2000 from Georgetown and Coolspring Presbyterian Churches.

Bob enjoyed singing and in his younger years ran track, playing and coaching football.
After retirement, Bob enjoyed time spent at the Dover Modern Maturity Center , watching the wildlife and sunsets while snacking on Tillie’s famous baked cookies.

A Celebration of Life was officiated by Pastor Judy Adams on Saturday May 20th at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, Dover, DE. Interment with Military Honors was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover, DE.
