Obituary for Elizabeth M Gerrity (Callan)
Elizabeth M. Gerrity of Wyoming, DE died Friday Oct. 23, 2020 at her residence. Her age was 95.
Born in Brooklyn, NY she was the daughter of the late Ambrose and Catherine Corbett Callan.
She moved to Wyoming, DE in 1979 from New York after her husband's retirement. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Elizabeth was an active member over the years of American Legion Walter L. Fox Post #2,, Fraternal Order of Police, Camden Wyoming Moose Auxiliary and Harvest Years Senior Center, She also spent many hours Volunteering on the Junior Board at Kent General Hospital and the Disabled American Veterans in Wyoming, De.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald F. Gerrity of 53 years in 2003.
Elizabeth is survived by 2 daughters Patricia Van Orman of Dover, DE. and
Donna Smeltzer of Wyoming, DE
She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Elizabeth will be missed by many as she touched the hearts of everyone she met.
A private Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday October 28th at The Church of The Holy Cross, Dover, DE and Interment took place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. Family request donations in her memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way Milford, DE 19963.
