Antoine Nicholas Ashburn, 76, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at his home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware surrounded by his family.
Antoine was born and raised in Philadelphia by parents Mary Stadnick Ashburn and Lennie Ashburn. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Lennie Ashburn and his nephews Lennie and Thomas Ashburn. He is survived by his wife Theresa and his four children, Jordan, Kristen, Katie and Nicholas and his five grandchildren, Sophie and Brooke Ashburn, Ashra Hunt and Luca and Nico Latini as well as his two sisters Sonia Lynaugh and Kathy Ashburn.
From an early age Antoine demonstrated ingenuity and a strong work ethic. He is a graduate of Temple University where he was captain of the rowing team which went on to win the Dad Vail Regatta. As a young adult he worked as an accountant for Price Water House but was inspired to become a builder by his grandfather who built a church by hand in NJ. He moved to Pottstown, Pennsylvania to start his career as a builder and then settled his family in Dover, Delaware in 1975 where he grew a thriving residential construction and development company. Throughout his life Tony continued his love of boating, reading, cycling, gardening, and traveling. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday August 10th, 2019 at 11:00 am at Maple Dale Country Club in Dover, Delaware with the memorial service to follow at 12 pm. The family kindly asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Through the Eyes of Children (www.camerakids.photos) a charity for which his daughter has volunteered.
