Obituary for Don E Winslow

Don E Winslow, 64, of Marydel, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019.

Born October 9, 1954, in Little Creek, Del., son to late father Herbert Winslow and late mother Mary (Snincak) Shook. His late half-brother Theodore “Ted” Simmons also preceded him in death.

Survived by his partner of over 27 years Eileen (Feltman) Bishop; daughter, Stacy (Winslow) Galvan; and son, Jeffrey Winslow.

Don graduated from the Caesar Rodney School District in 1972. After working a string of welding jobs, he entered the U.S. Army in 1975 and was honorably discharged in 1978.

After his service to the country he loved so much, he experienced life. Traveling by motorcycle across the country exploring different areas of the southeast with fond love of Texas and Louisiana, briefly working on offshore oil rigs.

Being a mechanical and hands-on individual, Don had multiple foreman welding positions through his career; most recently, he was self-employed for the last 10 years, assisting his neighbors and community with small and large pipefitting projects.

Don was a proud man, and nothing made him more proud then the accomplishments of his two children Stacy and Jeffrey, who he wanted nothing more than for them to have more than he did in terms of education and career opportunities which he worked hard every day to afford them.

Don’s funeral service will be held at the Delaware Veteran Memorial Cemetery at 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966 on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Due to the untimely manner of his passing, the family is asking in lieu of flowers for donations to Don’s memorial fund to help the family with final costs, bills, and burial expenses. A GoFundMe account has been created to assist the family, and can be accessed at: www.gofundme.com/don-winslow-memorial
