Obituary for John D Abbrescia
ARNOLD, Md. — John D. Abbrescia died Dec. 28, 2018 at Bay Health Medical Center in Dover.
Born in New York, N.Y., he was the son of the late John A. and Elizabeth Mollicone Abbrescia. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and had served as Re- gional Vice President of Bankers Life and Casualty Co. A lover of animals he enjoyed Wine Making and could often be found reading Military History. Mr. Abbrescia was a dedicated husband and father who treasured the time spent with his grandchildren as he adored hearing them play music and sing. He especially enjoyed Christmas Eve as it was set aside for the Tradi- tional Italian Fish Feast where family and friends would congregate. He was a boating enthusiast who looked for- ward to the many family outings on the Chesapeake. Mr. Abbrescia was one of those people who truly made a difference and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him He leaves his loving wife, Gloria K. Abbrescia; and his two sons and their spouses, Vincent Dominick and wife Kelly Abbrescia, John Michael and wife Emily Abbrescia; grandchildren, Ariana, Isabella, Gianna, Dominique and John Michael Abbrescia; along with two great grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover, DE 19901. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover.
