Condolence: To Shirley's Family, I'm so glad I had the chance to have the chance to meet you all at the service yesterday and see the people that Shirley spoke of so often. I know how special you all were to her. As I mentioned, I only knew Shirley for the past year when she started working at Trolley Laundry. I looked forward to talking with her on my weekly stops there. She had a wonderful curiosity about things and we enjoyed long talks about all sorts of things and she listened patiently as I shared my little troubles. It took awhile, but after much nagging, she was finally ready to begin taking guitar lessons with me. In fact, the very last time we spoke I had stopped in to show her a new guitar I had just picked-up and she made me play a song right there in the shop as she smiled and went about her folding:) Somewhere in her belongings you should find a CD of my group Gunpowder Lane. I had given her the CD a while back and she said she really enjoyed it. I hope one of you will keep it and listen to it and enjoy it as a small reminder of Shirley's love of music. Her quiet, warm and compassionate spirit will always have a lasting impact on me and others. As the sadness of her loss ebbs over time, I know her spirit will make me smile. Again, please accept my deepest sympathies. I will keep you in my prayers that you find comfort in knowing that your daughter, you mother, and your sister brought much joy into the world and will be missed. Sincerely, Rob Tietze
