Obituary for George Henry Masset

George Henry  Masset
George Masset, 84, of Dover entered into eternal peace on January 3, 2018. He was born in Buffalo, NY on December 13, 1933. He married the love of his life, Heidi Masset, while in Germany serving his country. During his Air Force career, George served three tours of duty in Vietnam. Throughout his years of service he also spent time in England, Germany, Florida, Alaska and North Dakota.He retired from the United States Air Force in 1972. Heidi and George made Dover their home, raised their children and spent many happy years here. George loved surf fishing, football, being outdoors and spending time with his children and grandchildren. George(Popi’s) guiding philosophy was “don’t sweat the small stuff”. Popi’s gentle demeanor and perpetually positive outlook on life
will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. George is now with his wife, Heidi, who preceded him in death one year ago. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his family; 2 daughters, Linda Knox and husband Larry, of Dover; Viola Smith and husband Tom, of Illinois; his son Frank Masset and wife Debbie, of Hartly, DE; his grandchildren, Jessica Palazzolo and husband Ryan, of Illinois; Megan Price and husband Kyle of Florida, Dylan Knox of Philadelphia, Christina Merrell and husband Brian of Illinois; Carly Knox of Bear, DE; Morgan Masset of Dover; Michael and Daniel Moriarty and Michael and Mikayla Smith, Beau Pletz and Alyssa of Illinois and his great grandchildren, Madison, Kinley, Albie and Kylen.
Funeral Services will be held 3PM on Sunday January 7th at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso 1175 S. State St. Dover, De. with visititation starting at 2PM. Interment will take place at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Millsboro, De on Monday January 8th at 10:00 am.
