Obituary for Beatrice L Price (Gray)

Beatrice L. Price, 85, of Dover, DE., died September 24, 2017. Born in Missoula, Montana, she was the
daughter of the late Walter Gray and Beatrice Bailey Gray. As a result of her father being in the military
she had lived in Montana, Alaska, California and Maryland. Despite the moves which resulted from her father’s transfers, she excelled in her studies. She married Oliver W. Price in 1951 and the couple later divorced. Bea had later worked for many years at Fort Meade in Maryland as a cryptographer for the US Second Army and later as a transcriptionist at Kimbrough Army Hospital department of Radiology and was awarded many commendations in both capacities. She also worked part-time at North Arundel Hospital to provide for her son. In spite of a handicap related to bone disease as a child, she remained courageous and dependable. She was a loving, forgiving and caring person who loved animals. She was particularly fond of cats and rescued and cared for many homeless animals. She loved attending church and always cried at weddings. She enjoyed country music and was particularly fond of John Berry and Ray Price. She excelled in crocheting and knitting until osteoarthritis robbed her of that ability. Bea will be greatly missed by her son and those who knew and loved her. Besides her parents she was pre-deceased by her sister, Elizabeth E. Richards. Bea leaves her son, Dr. Gregory W. Price and his wife, Susan. Also survived by her brother, Daniel Wagner, of Omaha, Nebraska and her two grandchildren, Mason W. Price of Dover, DE and Brittney Williams of Hartly, DE. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Holy Cross Church, So. State St., Dover, DE. Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum, New & Water Sts. in Dover. Donations in her memory may be made to ASPCA Memorial Gifts.
