Obituary for Anthony Michael Matone

Anthony Michael  Matone
Anthony “Mike” Matone, age 84 of Dover, DE died August 9, 2017. Born in Dunmore, PA he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna Draboz Matone. He was raised in Scranton, PA and later in Wilmington, DE
and had spent his adult life in Dover, DE. Mike had served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Macon. Upon his discharge from the Navy he joined the Motorola Corp. where he installed Electronic Equipment for over 31 years. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Betsy in 2011. He had been a longtime member of Holy Cross Church, The Knights of Columbus and the Disabled American Veterans. He had been a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by the many lives he had touched. Mike leaves his five children, Beverly Hirt; Donna Claveloux; Alicia Sumpter; Anthony Matone III and Joseph Matone. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Sisters Joan Fersch and Lillian Stark Kaplan along with Phillip
Matone, Gene Matone and Ronald Bagdon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Holy Cross Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, DE. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Dover. Friends may call on Tues. eve. from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover. Condolences may be made via www.ambruso.com
