Obituary for Clara Florance Briscoe (Wolverton)

Clara F. Briscoe, 89, of Dover, DE, died April 21, 2016. Born in Trenton, NJ she was the daughter of the late George and Clara Braun Wolverton. Mrs. Briscoe had had been a homemaker for most of her adult life and had been active with several non-profit organizations. She had been a Charter Member of Deborah Hospital Heart Lung Association and a Life Time member of the VFW. She was also a member of the American Legion and a Lady of the BPO Elks. In her quieter moments she enjoyed Cross word Puzzles, Crocheting, Bingo and trips to Atlantic City. She was a kind woman who was dedicated to her family and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Jack E. Briscoe, and her daughter, Patricia B. Briscoe in 2014. Also predeceased by 3 brothers; George, Thomas and Richard. She leaves her loving daughters; Katherine (Paul) LeBlanc of Southampton, NJ, Linda E. Schiefer (Darren Knowles) of Dover, DE, her son in-law Craig E. Briscoe of Southampton, NJ and numerous step children. Her siblings, Loretta (Ralph) Hepner and Joseph (Thelma) Wolverton all of Bordentown, NJ, Jimmy (Janet) Wolverton of Chesterfield, NJ and Ruth (Ronnie) Brown of Cherryville, NC. Also survived by 8 Grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren several nieces and nephews and her special niece, Diane Robinson.
