Edward L. Tynan, CRNA, age 76 of Dover, De died peacefully at Bay Health Medical Center surrounded by his family on December 7, 2011. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY he was the son of the late Joseph and Doris Williams Tynan. Ed had proudly served in the US Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and was a Korean War Veteran. Mr. Tynan received his BA degree from Northwestern University in Electrical Engineering. After retiring early from the Bendix Corporation as a Director of Avionics, Ed changed career fields and received his RN from Wesley College and went on to receive his CRNA from the FB Lane Haines School of Anesthesia at Kent General Hospital. Mr. Tynan retired as a CRNA from Newcomb Medical center in Vineland, NJ in 1997. Throughout his life his hobbies were cooking, painting, and helping others. He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather and in his quieter moments he enjoyed boating as he held a Charter Captain's License. He was a long time member of the Masons and had been active with the Coast Guard Auxiliary. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Ed is survived by his loving wife, Joan Fischlein Tynan, of Dover, De; His children, Joseph Tynan and wife Maggie of Rock Hill, SC, Theresa Ballard and husband Edward of Dover, De, Lisa Smith of Simpsonville, SC, Kelli Cunningham of Newark, De, Christopher Cunningham and wife Lauren of Wilmington, De, Christina McFalls of Rock Hill, SC, and Lauren Tynan of Helsinki, Finland; Seven grandchildren, Noelle, Sherman, Riley Mackenzie, Jordan, Kyle, Danielle and Emma Jade; He is also survived by two sisters, his twin sister Carole Perine and Doris Nolan both of Long Island, NY; along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 starting at 9:45 AM at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso 1175 S. State St. Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Thurs. 11 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State St., Dover, with Interment following at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
