Obituary for Angelina E. Ratliff

Angelina E. (Lorusso)Ratliff, our loving mother and best friend, died peacefully surrounded by her children on March 6, 2013 at her home in Magnolia, DE. Her age was 83. Born in Belmar, NJ she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria (Dipaolo) Lorusso. Mrs. Ratliff had worked for New Jersey Bell in Asbury Park for over 15 years and later engaged in domestic work until her retirement in 2000. She had lived in Belmar, NJ until moving to Wall Township, NJ in 1960 and later moved to Magnolia, DE in 1996 so as to be with her children. She had graduated from Manasquan High School where she had played Soft Ball and later played for the local Women's League. She enjoyed Music and Dance and was especially fond of the Beach. Angelina could often be found enjoying the serenity of the boats and the beachgoers at the Manasquan Inlet. She was a kind and gentle person who enjoyed the time spent with her children and grandchildren .
Besides her parents she is predeceased by three brothers, Anthony, Roco, and Domonic Lorusso along with her two sisters, Marie Lorusso Sherman and Josephine Lorusso Zeron. She leaves her loving son, Brian Ratliff and daughter in-law, Jennie of Magnolia, DE and dedicated daughter, Rosemarie Hewitson and her husband, Scott of Magnolia, DE, her brother Charles Lorusso and wife Mary of Belmar, NJ, her four grandchildren; Emily and Christopher Hewitson of Magnolia, DE, Jason Ratliff of Dover, DE and Nicole Ratliff of Portland, OR, and two great grandchildren, Alyssa and Kelly of Washington State and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call Monday, March 11, 2013 starting at 1 PM at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso 1175 S. State St. Dover where Services will be held at 2 PM. Interment will follow in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery in Frederica, DE. Condolences may be forwarded via www.ambruso.com
