Obituary for Anne D. Frame

Dr. Anne D. Frame, age 92, formerly of Hazlettville, DE, entered into eternal rest on June 2, 2014 in Orlando, FL. Born in Dover, DE, she was the daughter of the late Lorenzo D’Marie and Rosie Ilardi.
Anne graduated from Immaculata College in Paoli, PA and completed her graduate studies at the University of Delaware in 1946. She was known to be proud that she was the only woman in her graduate program. Upon completion of her studies, Anne married and the Frame family moved to Puerto Rico, where she raised her family. She remained there until 2012. In 1985, Anne completed her doctorate in education at Nova University and was awarded an honorary doctorate in science in 2009 from InterAmerican University in Puerto Rico.
Dr. Frame’s academic contributions and awards were numerous, having developed and directed several million dollars in Federal Grants to support young students entering the research world, and others for the development of Plant Extracts to be developed into medical products to treat diseases like Tuberculosis. She retired from InterAmerican University as Professor of Biology and Parasitology, having served in a number of positions of responsibility to include Chair of the Department of Biology. She loved being able to teach and mentor and share her knowledge above all else.
Learning and science were her passions, only to be surpassed by her love and commitment for her family. Anne cherished the moments with her family. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched.
Besides her parents, She was predeceased by her 5 siblings, Lawrence, Peter, Carmen, Louis, and Ursula.
Dr. Frame is survived by 4 grateful and loving children; a daughter, Patrice, of Orlando, FL; 3 sons, Edward and wife Jacqueline, of Kissimmee, FL, Stephen and his wife Maribel, of Puerto Rico, and Robert and his wife Teresa, of San Antonio, TX; 13 grandchildren, Karen, Anne Marie, Nicole, Jennifer, Jean-Paul, Celso Enrique (Rick), Edward, Michael, Stephen, Edgar, David, Michael, and Joel; 8 great grandchildren; along with 19 nieces and nephews.
