Condolence: I met Dave in the Philippines in1977. We were neighbors in base housing, and both active duty. He was a gentle and caring person; we exchanged Christmas cards through 2012. I am very saddened to hear of his death. My thanks to the family for letting me know. A very special person, he will be missed.

Colonel Affholder was a loving friend and big brother figure to me at Clark AB Philippines from 1977-1980. He was a fine officer who loved his children and spoke of them often. Sometimes I felt he treated me like his African American daughter. I loved him very much. He approved my relationship with my now husband Barry while there before my Dad did. :) I'll seriously miss hearing from him annually as his was our first Christmas card for almost 31 years...our deepest sympathy and love to each of you. Condolence: Yoshi, I am very sorry for your loss. I first met Dave, a brand new 2nd Lt. in 1960 at Weathersfield AB England. I helped him get settled in to his new assignment and we have been friends ever since. I too feel a great loss. Again I offer my sincerest condolence. Frank

Condolence: I worked with Dave for years at Morgan Realty when we were building Morgan Christina Center. He was a true delight and you couldn't find a truer friend. I know he loved his family. He would talk about his family all the time. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.

Condolence: I was friends with Dave since 1986 and he was one of the most supportive and encouraging friends I have ever had. I have many, many fond memories of happy times we shared in New York City before he moved back to Delaware. Dave was a real original and there is no replacing him. My heart, along with the hearts of many other of Dave's friends, is breaking. His passing is a great loss for those of us remaining and he will be forever missed.
