Condolence From: Julie O'Donnell Gramb
Condolence: I met Jamie at William Henry Middle School in the 5th grade. I was fortunate to be one of her "helpers" in class. From the moment I met her, she impressed me with how strong she was. She and I remained friends our whole lives. Living as roommates at one point. There was never an obstacle too large for Jamie to overcome. She was definitely a force to be reckoned with. Her passion for carving a new path for people with disabilities is something that will go down in the records as she achieved so many things in her advocacy. I only wished I lived closer and would have been able to see her before she passed. I know she is walking around in heaven with her parents and sister Lisa now. I hope she knows how incredibly missed she is by so many people. RIP my sweet friend! I love & miss you!

Condolence: I met Jamie when I taught at the Kent County Orthopedic School, now the Community School. Although she wasn't one of my students, I knew her. Everyone who had any contact with her would always remember her spirit, her intelligence and her engaging personality. I saw her periodically around Dover taking herself wherever she wanted to go, including crossing 113 and terrifying me every time I saw her, but Jaime was fearless. She set goals for herself and proceeded to go about achieving them. She checked off "Get BA degree from UD" and "get Master's degree from DelState" from her to do list. She almost never seemed to think about and never dwelled on the things that she couldn't do. She was never sorry for herself, nor was she selfish. She achieved so much for Delaware's disabled community. I knew she was instrumental in getting legislation passed, but was astounded by all she had achieved when I read her obituary. It was quite a resume'.

Jaime revealed something about herself and taught me a lesson. I saw her at a store and reached out to brush her hair out of her eyes. She scolded me, "Don't". I realized then that Jaime had disciplined herself to accept what she was physically unable to do,
to accept it, and not whine about it. I never heard her complain but I did hear her laugh often. In addition to everything else, Jaime had a sense of humor.

The very last time I saw Jaime she was sitting in from of the Eden Hill Medical Center,
waiting for her transportation. She was being treated for a skin condition which covered large portions of her body. She had to have been miserable, but instead,
she quite happily told me her age. "I'm 50 now!" it was almost as if she got to check that goal off her "to do" list. It was scary when she was crossing highways, but it was also a comfort, because she was doing what she wanted to do. And that fact can comfort us now. I loved Jamie and I will miss her, but I am so happy that I got to know her. She enriched my life.

Condolence: My condolences to the family on the loss of your loved one. Losing someone you love is truly difficult and I know Jaime will be missed. Please know our Heavenly Father holds out promises that can help us with our sorrow. One such promise is that death soon will be done away with forever (Revelations 21:4) and another promise is that "there is going to be a resurrection"(Acts 24:15). I pray these promises from God, who cannot lie (Titus 1:2) brings you comfort. For more comfort from the Bible, visit www. jw. org.
