Obituary for Raphael Caccese Jr.

Raphael Caccese Jr. age 58 of Wyoming, DE, passed Sunday September 10, 2017 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE. Born in São Paulo, Brasil, he lived nearly his entire life in the United States and made his home in Wild Quail in Wyoming, DE with his loving family. A true bicentennial man, Ralph dedicated himself to the perfection of whatever he pursued. And it was a lot. He was a lover of knowledge and made his professional career as a radiologist at Kent General Hospital founding and cultivating a practice of physicians that is today 19 strong. He had a love for boating and fishing, and became a certified diesel mechanic operating his own fishing vessel in Ocean City, Maryland, the Casca Dura. He and his father Raphael Caccese Sr. took up the great game of golf. He went on to become a scratch handicap and even designed and build his own sets of clubs. All his life Ralph had an intense love for music. Before attending medical school he was a music student at the Philadelphia School for the Arts majoring in piano performance. He passed his love for music to his son Victor Caccese who now makes his career as a musician. Ralph was equally as strong physically as he was mentally. As a teenager he became a black belt in aikido and went on to teach adult classes in Cherry Hill, NJ. He was an avid weightlifter and passed this passion onto his son Dominic Caccese. He also had an insurmountable love for the teachings of Jesus Christ becoming confirmed as an adult in the Catholic Church. Perhaps the thing he will be remembered for the most is his love for his family, especially his wife Marie Rose Pagano Caccese. He was a compassionate person and somehow found the good in everything, always cracking a joke along the way. He touched so many people’s lives and will greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Ralph is survived by his wife Marie Rose Pagano Caccese of Wyoming, DE, sons Victor Caccese of Brooklyn, NY and Dominic Caccese of Wyoming, DE, parents Raphael Caccese Sr. and Olga Uhl Caccese of Dover, DE, and sister Pamella Russell (Robert) of Berlin, MD. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday 4:30-8pm at the Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Home 1175 S State St, Dover, DE 19901. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday 12pm at Holy Cross Church 631 S State St, Dover, DE 19901. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dover, DE.
