Obituary for Raymond F Kenney

Raymond F  Kenney
Raymond F. Kenney, age 76, of Smyrna, DE, died peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation in Wilmington, DE. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of the late Francis Kenney and Theresa (Cafasso) DeMelio, and step-father, Carmen DeMelio. Raymond graduated from North Plainfield High School in 1958, then served four years in the U.S. Army. Following his service, Raymond was a Court Reporter for the State of Delaware for 28 years. Raymond was an avid sports fan, active in his son’s activities, including coaching in the Camden-Wyoming Little League from 1974 – 1990. He has touched many lives with his caring, inclusive, and outgoing personality. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.


Besides his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gladys Lynch.


Raymond is survived by his wife of 53 years, Concetta (Connie) Catanzaro Kenney, of Smyrna, DE, his sons, Scott Kenney and wife Jennifer, of Apple Valley, MN, and Adam Kenney and wife Kristin, of Gilbert, AZ; five grandchildren, Allison, Ellen, Claire, Alexander, and Brooke; as well as three sisters, Theresa Keyser of Ft. Loudin, PA, Patricia Easterday of Keller, TX, and Kathy Bohrer of Hagerstown, MD.


A Mass will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. where friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Polycarps Catholic Church. 135 Ransom Ln., Smyrna, DE 19977. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Memphis, TN 38101-9908. Life’s End Services are by Michael J. Ambruso Funeral Director, Inc., Dover.
