Edward J. Troise, 92, of Lewes, DE, formerly of Dover, died Wednesday, July 29, 2016, at home, with his family by his side. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Theresa Troisi. Mr. Troise proudly served our country during WWII as a member in the US Army Air Corps where he was awarded both Bronze and Silver Star along with the Purple Heart. Mr. Troise, fondly known and remembered as Poppop, started a civil defense contracting company in the 1960’s and had completed numerous U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force contracts including many at Dover Air Force Base. He loved his family dearly and was a very sociable person with a wonderful disposition. He led a diverse life and was a hard-working man until the day he passed. Mr. Troise will be dearly missed but never forgotten, as he touched many throughout his lifetime.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Evelyn B. Troise who passed in 2007.
He leaves three sons, Edward J. Jr., Lawrence, Anthony, and his daughter Evelyn T. Troise-Bove, all of Lewes, DE. Also survived by nine grandchildren, Jeremy E. Troise and his wife Tara of Camden, NY, Jerrad D. Troise, of Seattle, WA, Justin A. Troise and his fiancée, Tracy Powell, of Lewes, Eleanor Roberto and her husband Louis, of Philadelphia, Aimee E. Troise and her husband Brendan Bieker, of Philadelphia, Jacquline N. Troise, of Dover, Jheri J. Troise, of Dover, and Elissa J. Troise-Greco and her husband John Greco, of Lewes; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at St. Edmond’s Catholic Church located at King Charles & Laurel St. in Rehoboth Beach, DE, where
a viewing will be held starting at 10 am. Military Honors and Entombment in the Troise Family Mausoleum will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery on Pilottown Rd., Lewes, DE. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in his memory to the Tunnel Cancer Center, Lewes, DE, or to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Philadelphia, PA.
