Herbert E. Thompson, age 51, of Magnolia, DE died Saturday September 10, 2011 at Bay Health Medical in Dover. Born in Wilmington, DE he was the son of the late John L. Thompson, Sr. and Doris Pierson Thompson of Magnolia, De. Herb had been a Fork Lift Operator with Fruit Bud Juice Co. of Camden, De. He especially enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends and spent his quieter moments fishing. He had also been a longtime fan of Nascar Racing.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by 2 brothers, John L. Thompson, Jr. and Terry L. Thompson; his brother-in-law, Frank D. Kemp, Jr., and nephew Michael J. Thompson. Besides his mother, Mr. Thompson is survived by his loving wife, Rita M. Allen Thompson of Magnolia, De.; his brother, Louis Thompson and wife Rosalyn of Dover, De.; 2 sisters, Patricia Kemp of Milford, DE and Doris Thompson Brady and husband Robert of Milford, De.; 3 stepsons, Chris Downer of Wilmington, De, Kenny Silves of Dover, De and Eric Silves of Smyrna, De. along with 2 grandchildren, Kaiden Silves of Smyrna, De and Elizabeth Downer of Wilmington, De.
Friends may call Saturday starting at 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover, where Services will be conducted by the Rev. Milton Kemp at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private. Condolences may be forwarded and Guest Book signed via www.ambruso.com
