Obituary for William H. Rogers III

William H. “Bill” Rogers, III, of Camden, passed away August 12, 2011. His age was 70. Born in Wheeling, WV, he was the son of the late Roy LeSeur Meek and Sara Rehm Rogers Meek. Bill was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1988 after 26 years of service to his country. After his retirement, he found success as a Realtor with Harrington Realty, Inc. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and the Delaware Association of Realtors. He was fond of golfing, bowling, and gardening, and always enjoyed renovation projects in his home. Mr. Rogers will be remembered as a kind and caring man, who will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother James Rogers. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cheryl Rogers, of Camden; two daughters, Lori Thompson and husband Chad, of Farmington, MN and Amy Deputy and husband Paul, of Camden; four grandchildren, Sierrah and Jason Rogers, both of Camden, and Joseph and Nicklas Thompson, both of Farmington, MN; along with two sisters, Sally A. Hogan and Barbara A. Hartleib, both of Wheeling, WV. Friends may call Thursday, August 18th, 2011 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE. Where services will be Friday, August 19th, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at The Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Bayhealth Medical Center Cardiac Department, Bayhealth Foundation, 640 South State Street, Dover, DE 19901-3530 or to Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, P.O. Box 3968, Gaithersburg, MD, 20885-3968. Condolences may be forwarded and Guest Book signed via www.ambruso.com
