Obituary for Marie LaValley Kemp

Marie LaValley Kemp, 34, of Dover, DE passed away April 17, 2014 with her family by her side.
Born in Milford, DE she was the daughter of Patricia Kemp and the late Frank D. Kemp, Jr.
She was a 1998 graduate of PolyTech High School and was employed with Saint Francis Hospital EMS. As a child, Marie was very active in Girl Scouts, having received both the Girl Scout Silver and Gold Awards, an acolyte at the Magnolia United Methodist Church, and a member of the Polytech Marching Band. As an adult, she enjoyed bowling, being with friends and coworkers, working with her Dad, and becoming a mother and an EMT. Marie enjoyed country music and was an avid Phila. Eagles and Baltimore Orioles fan.

Her three children were her pride and joy and you could hear it in her voice every time she spoke of them. Marie will always be remembered as a Hero as she received a citation for her Pre-Hospital Sudden Cardiac Arrest Save from the Dept. of Public Safety, EMS Division, New Castle, DE, and was a proud member of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. She felt blessed to have a vocation in which she sincerely enjoyed with a passion. She was a proud member of Platoon A at Saint Francis Hospital as she admired the members of that Platoon. Besides her mother, she is survived by her fiancé John Majka Jr.; her daughter Victoria Walters; her sons Matthew Kemp & John Majka III; a sister Jennifer Cazzell and Chris; her brother Frank Kemp III & Jessi and her maternal grandmother, Doris Thompson. She is also survived by her nieces Adriana, Dolly, Trinity, Kendall and Serenity along with her nephews; Kyle and Cameron. Friends may call Tuesday, April 22, 2014 eve. from 6 until 9 P.M. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St. Dover, DE where Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 A.M. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden, DE. Marie’s family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the love and support they have received during this difficult time.
