Retired Senior Master Sergeant Harry D. Johnson, age 76, of Dover, died February 8, 2012. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Harry L. and Alice Richardson Johnson. Mr. Johnson proudly served his nation, retiring from the United States Air Force after 21 years. He later worked as a Revenue Officer and retired from Civil Service after 25 years. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Delaware DAV and the NAACP. In his quieter moments he enjoyed fishing but mostly he cherished the time spent with his family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Besides his parents, Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by one sister and three brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Johnson; three daughters, Miquel Cunningham, of West Chester, PA, Tanya Smith, of Montclair, VA, and Kimberly Rodriguez, of Westminster, CO; two sons, Niki Johnson, of West Chester, PA, and Terence Johnson, of Houston, TX; one sister, Dejaria Gillian, of AL; one brother, Ronald Johnson, of Philadelphia, PA; along with 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. where friends may call starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover. Interment will be private. Condolences may be forwarded and Guest Book signed via www.ambruso.com
